For example, next month, Hong Kong will welcome the Year of the Horse with one of the world's most spectacular Chinese New Year celebrations. On February 17, the first day of the festival, the Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade will transform the city into a sparkling carnival of lights, music, and festive spirit. Celebrate Chinese New Year like never before: admire vibrant colors at festive fairs, make incense offerings for luck at Hong Kong's temples, and attend the horse races.

A dazzling procession of floats and performers will kick off with a street party. The parade starts on February 17 at 8:00 PM from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and will travel along the main streets of Tsim Sha Tsui, including Canton Road, Haiphong Road, and Nathan Road. Thrilling performances, including the intricate artistry of the Xi'an Acrobatic Troupe from Mainland China, the comedic acrobatic duo Les Vitaminés from Canada, and the debut of Australia's Manly Seabirds cheer squad, will fill the parade route with energy and sparkle.

Hong Kong's tradition as a meeting point of East and West will be highlighted by the mesmerizing Glowing Dragon Dance from the Chinese Martial Arts Association, which will travel the carnival route alongside Italy's Cromosauro—a giant dinosaur adorned with vibrant, colorful fabrics.

Beyond the parade, the city will host numerous events as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations. From February 11 to 17, visitors can immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere at Lunar New Year fairs, also known as flower markets. Parks and public centers will be filled with seasonal blooms and joyous vibes. Be sure to visit popular fairs such as those at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay or Fa Hui Park in Mong Kok. Galloping into the Year of the Horse, visitors should not miss the much-loved race day on February 19. Exciting horse racing will take place at Sha Tin Racecourse, offering a chance to enhance one's luck. Tourists can also join the Lam Tsuen Wishing Festival from February 17 to March 3. Here, one can write a wish on a piece of ritual paper attached to an orange and toss it toward the Wishing Tree. It is believed that if the paper remains on the tree, the wish will come true.
